Can I charter my pleasure boat?

Any person wishing to charter (lease or rent) his pleasure boat should consult an attorney familiar with such charters. It is important that the vessel owner be very familiar with customs regulations, insurance, licensing status such as documentation and boat numbering, and exposure to liability. This area is complex enough that anyone contemplating turning their boat out for charter should have competent legal advice.
