Simple Will
A simple Will provides for the outright distribution of assets for an uncomplicated estate and can be done on an easy form from a stationery store, a book, or from a reputable legal document website.

Self-Proving Will
A self-proving Will, or a self-proving affidavit attached to a Will, certifies that the witnesses and testator properly signed the Will.

Deathbed Will
A deathbed Will is a Will created and executed when the testator is facing imminent death.

Types of Wills: Introduction
A will is a written or oral communication by a person stating how they want their property disposed of at death. There are several different types of wills.

Testamentary Trust Will
A testamentary trust Will sets up one or more trusts that part or all of your estate assets will go into at the time of death.

Holographic or Handwritten Will
In some of the states, handwritten Wills, also called holographic Wills, are valid. This type of Will must be prepared in your own handwriting.

Joint Will
A joint Will is one that two people make together, each leaving all of their property and assets to the other. It also covers the situation when the second person dies.

Oral Will
An oral Will is spoken rather.written, but few states recognize this type of Will except in emergency situations.

Pour Over Will
A pour-over Will is created to “catch” any assets or property that had been left out of a living Trust, either intentionally or inadvertently.

Statutory Will
A statutory Will is a “fill-in-the-blank” and “check the boxes” Will form that is easy to fill out, inexpensive to prepare, but very limited in use. An example of a statutory Will is reproduced.
