Can my bank charge me for using my bank’s atm?

Yes, but the bank must inform you of the terms and conditions of your account, and all charges. Very often banks do this in the small print brochure they send out with your statements each month. ATMs offer certain advantages to consumers over tellers -- they are convenient, can be located where banks would not normally set up a branch, such as at airports and supermarkets, and ATMs can operate 24 hours a day. Some banks charge even more for visiting a teller.
