How am I notified of the arbitration decision?

When the arbitrators have reached their decision and have signed an award, copies will be mailed to both you and the opposing party. The award will contain the names of the parties, a summary of the issues in controversy and the issues resolved, as well as the damages requested and awarded and the names of the arbitrators. The awards will be made publicly available.

Arbitrators are not required to write opinions or provide reasons for the award. You can, however, request an opinion. This request should be made no later than the hearing date. The decision of the arbitrators is final. The award of the arbitrators is subject to court review only under extremely limited circumstances. For additional information see FreeAdvice's arbitration material under litigation.
