Financial Law - Broker Disputes - General Questions

I think the broker made far too many trades for my account. Is there anything I can do?
Yes. "Churning" of an account by a broker to generate commissions for the broker or his firm is improper.

If the trades were initiated on your own and you properly placed them through the broker, you probably will not recover any losses.

If the trades were solicited by your broker and you authorized the broker to effectuate them, it is a closer call.

However, if you gave the broker authority to trade for your account at his or her discretion -- a "discretionary" account -- and the number of transactions was excessive and inappropriate for your financial goals and trading strategy, you may have a good claim against the broker and his or her employer.
