Changing Your Mind

FAQs

Can I change my mind after entering a contract?

I inadvertently left my wedding ring at a restaurant and suspect the waiter lifted it. I filed a police report and put an ad in the paper, offering a reward. Am I obligated to pay the reward?

Last saturday, a man test drove the car I was selling. I answered all his questions, and we agreed on a price. The next week, we exchanged a certified check and good title to my car. Later the same day, he demanded his money back because he had discovered the car had been painted. The car was painted before he ever looked at it, but he never asked that question. Is he justified in suing me?

I recently purchased a sofa and chair for my living room. However when placed in the living room, they did not look right. The company picked up them up and issued me a store credit. Half a year has gone by and I still haven't found a sofa and chair to my liking. The store refuses to refund the money. What is my next move?
