The contractor won’t complete my home repairs unless I pay more money. I can’t live in an unfinished kitchen, and feel I am over the barrel. What are my options?
This is a very broad question, and the answer depends on your contract and state laws. Generally, if you did not cause the project to go over budget, then you can withhold payment (or threaten to), or contact the Construction Contractor's Board or Agency to see if you can file a claim against the builder's bond.
