I recently purchased a sofa and chair for my living room. However when placed in the living room, they did not look right. The company picked up them up and issued me a store credit. Half a year has gone by and I still haven't found a sofa and chair to my liking. The store refuses to refund the money. What is my next move? |

There is no law that requires a merchant to refund money, unless the sofa and chair are not "fit for the purpose of which they were intended." Not liking a style, color, type, or anything else about the furniture, is not the fault of the merchant.
When stores refund money, it is usually a store policy to do so, borne out of the desire to create and keep "good will" in the community - - but, that's a "store policy" and not a law.
So, your "next move" is to wait until the store does, in fact, obtain merchandise to your liking. If they don't have a policy of returning customer money, then you'll have to live with that fact.
Hindsight has 20/20 vision; next time, about their return and refund policies BEFORE you laid down your money. |
