I signed an installment loan contract to buy a new refrigerator. The refrigerator is defective but the finance company demands that I keep making payments. What can I do? |

| Many state laws require that consumer installment contracts be written in plain English and in a specified type size. If you are in one of those states and your contract does not meet one of those standards, you may have a remedy. However, you may well be held to the contract and have to seek redress from the retailer or the manufacturer of the defective product. |
