I had disabilty coverage through my employer’s group medical health plan. I was dropped. Is that legal?

There are several reasons why an employee loses DI coverage, including loss of his or her job. Read the summary, handbook, or brochure that details the coverage and benefits. If you still question the information in the summary or handbook you, as an insured, should ask for the policy and compare the language about the particular benefit or coverage in the policy with the language in the summary, handbook, or brochure. Employed persons with questions in this area can contact their union or association representative or their company's benefits office.
