What are the main deal points in a bandmember agreement?
In order to avoid potential conflicts and disputes, it usually advisable to memorialize the band’s business and financial concerns with each other in writing through a band or group partnership agreement. If a band agreement is being considered, there are certain key issues that should be addressed and clarified, such as ownership, responsibilities of each bandmember, percentage of profits and losses, voting, writer's share of income, death or disability of bandmember, new member's rights, and so on.

As in all music-related agreements, all provisions are negotiable, but largely dependent on your clout and leverage. Whenever possible, a music lawyer should be consulted before any band agreement is signed.
