The other side is appealing, what does that mean?

When you lose in court you have the right to have another court review the decision. This is called an appeal. Appeals can be very complex and technical rules are usually enforced by the court. When the other side appeals, you should contact a lawyer, especially if the issues are important or a substantial amount of money is involved.
