How long will it typically take to take for a nursing home neglect or abuse case to get settled? Or will we have to go through a trial? How do courts measure the value of a nursing home abuse or neglect case?

My father died in a nursing home, and after talking with some of the staff, it sounds like he died because of nursing home neglect. I do not have a lot of money, but I am very angry and upset, and I think we should bring a claim against the nursing home. If I get a lawyer involved, how much can I expect to pay him or her? Would I win? Who gets the money?

Can a resident or their family sue an attendant as well as the owner of a nursing home for physical, emotional or psychological damage?
