I received a notice that the IRS intends to seize assets if I don’t pay my taxes. I cannot afford to pay. What should I do?

Your best bet is to call the number shown on the form ASAP to hold off the IRS action. Talk with a representative from the Automated Collection Systems; they are user-friendly and will make an effort to resolve the delinquency with a minimum of paperwork. The best approach while you slog through the ordeal is to speak up and answer all the questions that will be asked.. and hire a tax attorney ASAP.
